This Hot & Sweet Jerk BBQ sauce is a fantastic accompaniment to any barbecued jerk meat. Tangy, sweet and spicy with the flavours of Scotch Bonnet and Habanero chilli peppers. Perfect on Jerk Chicken and Jerk Pork.

Near where I grew up in London there was the most amazing jerk shop called Lundi’s. Run by an elderly Jamaican couple. You could smell their smokers a block away. Every time I visited I would get a large mixed tub of Jerk Chicken & Jerk Pork with Rice & Peas. Then cover it all with Lundi’s Sweet & Hot Jerk BBQ Sauce.

Lundi’s has now unfortunately closed down, but I have spent a lot of time trying to clone some of their fantastic recipes. This is one of them, and it’s so simple to make! Another is my Rum Brined Smoke Roasted Jerk Pork. So please try that one out.

I use the classic Encona Original Hot Pepper Sauce in this recipe. Lund’s would have used this in their sauce. You can substitute with any West Indian hot pepper sauce. If you can get one made from Scotch Bonnet & Habanero, that would work best.
